About Us

Since it's founding in 1959, the Shelter's leaders have focused on raising the necessary funds and spending them judiciously to care for the area's abandoned animals. Contributions from so many in this community have also allowed the Shelter to serve the needs of the homeless animals of Muskingum County.

We are committed to housing, caring, and finding homes for the abandoned pets in our community. All of our pets are spayed or neutered before placement into their forever homes. We have established several programs to aid in our quest to find our abandoned pets a permanent home as well as controlling our area's pet overpopulation.

We are a 501(c)3 Non Profit facility relying solely on adoption fees and generous donations for our funding.  We receive absolutely NO government funding!

We are an "adoptable no kill" shelter, meaning we never euthanize for space.

Spay & Neuter Program

Our low cost spay/neuter program has reduced the number of abandoned pets in our area and the surrounding counties. We require the fees to be paid prior to scheduling your pet for surgery. Please contact the Animal Shelter for additional information at 740-452-1077.
